Riding with Street Racers

Tonight I came home and saw everybody at the shop. We all hung out, and I helped F and C to fix their computer with the spyware. They now own their own shop because A had another one of his evil schemes going, which made F know it was time to leave. The atmosphere was so different. We just hung out. Candy taught me the basic of freehand, which is about eight time easier than illustrator! I took a lot of photos and although one or two guys was complaining, w and wg was like, "leave her alone." I think I might be ready to film again. Just coz we are all in a good mood and M wants to do a story for corbis. but he’s in Russia working on a still project with Road movies, Wim Wender’s production company. I just mention that because that’s ultral cool, and that for whatever personal reasons, the fact it’s mentioned bring back something in my life and I realized I am now so far beyond that whole ridiculous, wasteful drama. I am working so much. Got the street art thing going. Went photographing with MG on the trail. Kinda like a bit of an expedition. We were talking about how cool it is that we actually both so seriously collaborate and do our work. I think maybe I can rope her into lighting the doco, and M does the stills and we have a very very good package to deal with. It’s finally coming together after all this time. People keep saying. "I thought you gave up." or "Haven’t you finished it?" and I always go, "Nope haven’t started. Just wasn’t ready. just didn’t have the right combination. Too much was happenning." I think my decision to stop filming, take as long a break as I can to learn and watch. Get them used to the idea of being filmed has worked wonders. I did spend a year and a half just hanging. And really, we’re friends now. Like I am about as close a friend as anyone in the group. I don’t always hang out but neither does any of them. It’s like, we’re happy to see each other, and we sorta all have this way of relating. We know a lot about each person’s lives, and history. I know a lot more about being a brilliant driver than some of the boys coz I rode with each and everyone of them separately. It’s good. like everything else in life. I am starting to get it together. And now C has a computer in the garage. I can so much more easily show them what I have done. Rather than lug my mac down there, so much drama. If  I just leave a DVD there, they can watch at their own time. It’s pretty cool coz f is openning a new shop, and G had a baby boy and it feels like the right segway to start filming again. All I need now is a proper mike to get the sound. It’s kinda hard. I need three things. a mike, a scanner and a professional digital camera for stock photos. With limited budget. I really need to think which one I need first. Probably scanner than mike then digicam. that needs research also. Actually they all need research.

Lots to do.
