Slow HK News Days.. and journalist desperation…

Glutter’s Hong Kong

I said in the last post, how I don’t mention anything about HK because I feel disillusioned. I think the whole city is just pissed and in a collective ostrich syndrome. No one does anything, so we can all just live normal non thinking lives:

Look at today’s news stories on the wires.

JAIL-HOUSE ROCK FOR HONG KONG POP STAR LAU

HONG KONG : Hong Kong pop and movie icon Andy Lau is to perform with prison inmates in a live jam session this weekend, a statement said.

The 51-year-old heart-throb will appear with two bands of inmates of Stanley Prison on Sunday, the government statement said.

Lau, who recently caused a riot in China when fans were locked out of one of his performances, is to be named as an official ‘Rehabilitation Ambassador of the Correctional Services Department’ at the event.

The 43-year-old is a leading star in the world of Canto-pop, a hybrid of Chinese ballads and Western pop which fills the local charts, and also an award-winning actor who has starred in some of Hong Kong’s most critically acclaimed films. Among his many movie credits is 1990’s “The Prisoner”, in which he appeared alongside fellow Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan.

I am not ignoring my city… it’s ignoring itself.

    1. Don’t be despair! Go read citizenreporter.blogspot.com
There are a few people in HK trying to create an alternative media, a better one, that will inform and get people back in talking political affairs again. If you can help them, please do. They lack people for webpage design, technical side of things, etc.
