More thoughts on wake boarding

Mobile posting. Still waiting for bus. So boring. Anyway i said that i did not like wake boarding because i felt chained to a boat. Turns out when you actually click its like walking on water. It felt crazy to be gliding in the water with the sun beating down the rocks at the bottom of hill eye level and the ocean park cable car high above and knowing the people are looking at you and your friends on the tiny little boat. And the thrill you get when you cross the wake or rush across as the boat turns. It felt a different kind of free like driving on the californian freeway with the windows down and you can go anywhere except there is no metal enveloping you. And when you realise you might fall and you let go. You stand on the board and you sink down. Like a whole new experience with interacting with water.

  2. You jumping yet? 😉
Try this simple rush… when the boat goes for a u-turn, go to the outside wake from the turn. Keep yer arms straight and bend your knees down. Great rush, and not that complex so even if you’re new to staying up, you still get a rush from it.

  3. Thanks for linking back. I was actually out wakeboarding on Sunday also but in Tai Tam…where the “red tide” was in full effect, and our boat was pulled over by some clueless coast guards for speeding. Ridiculous.

I miss falling off my board and feeling the water rush into my nose with waves just beating me like a paddle hitting the waves. Ok, im not a masochist. I miss the sport though. Puts hours of working out at the gym to shame.
