Goodbye Anita Mui
This was Anita Mui’s First Ever Solo Concert Series: Image but better remembered as the Bad Girl tour.
It’s also my first attempt at concert Photography at 12 years old. It’s a little blurry. I did okay, but I could never find a better subject to photograph for the first time around. I can still remember her walking pass me and the excitement of being so close.
She was amazing live. Her voice was second to none. Of all the concerts I had been to, I can honestly say Anita Mui was the best singer I have ever seen.
She also had a way to connect to the audience which made us feel like she’s not just performing for us, but at hosting a giant party. She talks and jokes as if were her old friends, something Leslie was also able to do. It was never a night of being at a show, it was a night of hanging out with the biggest star in Hong Kong’s music.
After I saw her Fantasy 2002 Gig, I said to my friend, “I had more fun tonight than I did at Madonna.” She said, “Really?” I said, “Yeah, and she sang better.”

I live in the U.S. and was a big fan of anita mui. I just found out a few days ago that she was dead. I was stunned! It’s such a shame that we in the U.S. who are fans of stars on the other side of the globe have no clue as to what is going on with other international stars that we love so much
