Saddam Arrested: How am I Supposed to Feel?

Socio-politico rants

Glutter just want to acknowledge the arrest of Saddam Hussein, I know this is what the world is all talking about. I don’t know how I feel about it, coz he was a dictator, an oppressor and he was all just wrong and it’s so good the world is rid of him and maybe the people are freer.

But I don’t like the reasons for the war, I hate the people who perpetuated it, and the very people who practically handed him his power had gone in and threw him out. And I don’t like how it’s all gone down either.

Part of me agree with Hitchen who said, “What if it works? What if this is what Iraq needs?” Part of me thinks he’s a mean drunk gone mad. Just like what Tariq Ali said to a friend of mine at some panel in London. That’s he’s gone off his rocker and sided with the hawks.

I dunno. I don’t think I am smart enough to say.

But don’t mean I ain’t thinking about it, and I figure just coz I don’t have the answers yet, doesn’t mean I won’t have the answers in the future.

  1. glutter, he didn’t say it in london, he said it in washington, D.C. at a lebanese restaurant.
all the same, the reaction you have is similar to everyone’s but the media.
i emailed some friends at home to see what they thought. the best came from my friend dave:
“Well, is Saddam an ass, you betcha! Is he Osama?”
a pause in the chat conversation
    “Is he?”
“Hell no! The world won’t rest until we finally bring some legitimacy to our government.”
I’m going to write something interesting on my blog about how Hong Kong people feel about George Bush.

  2. Do you like come to my blog every three seconds? I just posted this? Like are you the reason my hit rates doubled? I thought I was saying something relevant and caught people’s attention. No! It’s just you. 🙂
I don’t know. When I get half my life in order instead of trying to change the world, we should hang out again.

  3. Well. Dude. Come to HK!! We will show you around. I will anyway, Doug is boring, he stays home on weekends to throw up for no good reason. There is always a couch or two lying around this city that takes in ravers and partiers in need of sleep.
As for where, that place in Lyhurst terrace I told you about. The place where it’s now a joke that I bring a different guy EVERYTIME I turn up, just coz they give me funny looks. It’s always friends, but they don’t know that! Shhhh..

  4. weeeeeelllll, If I manage to get a job in ShangHai that pays me 6 times times more than I am getting now, then I shall definately pay you a visit in HK. In mandarin we would say ‘ming nian zai shuo ba’. We’ll see how it works out next year!!!! 🙂 Fuck I wanna see HK, but… I am so POOR here, my wage is so LOW (although admittedly it’s higher than about 80% of the locals) and I havn’t saved a kuai yet. silly me!
