Farmers Market Finds: Black Bell Peppers, Broccoflower and Purple Potatos

Thursday: Here is this week’s farmer markets finds. I generally buy the week’s vegetables at the market, because they are fresher, and cheaper than most average supermarkets.

This week’s interesting produce include the black bell peppers (opposed to the yellow, red or green ones), that are in the blue bowl next to the onion. They look like mini eggplants, as you can compare them with the real ones on the counter space.

We have a mix of potatos: red, yellow and purple.

Then there is the broccoflower, which is a hybrid of a cauliflower and a broccoli. It mostly has a texture of a cauliflower, but much harder like a broccoli. It’s much lighter than a proper broccoli.
