Awaiting a Democratic Hong Kong
The Democrat Alliance has stopped the new "reform" package from going through Legco. Supposedly this is this major reform package towards democracy. Firstly they will add 10 more seats to the legislature. I am not sure if it’s directly elected or functional constituency. The other is it will DOUBLE the numbers if people who will vote for Chief executive. Donald Tsangs says blocking this "Major" reform will cease all development of democracy in Hong Kong.
Hello? What reform?
800/7 000 000 = 0.0001142% of the population. Statistically that doesn’t even add up to 1%.
Doubling the numbers of "voters" for a race that no one is eligible to go against the main candidate means
1600/7 000 000 = 0.0002285% of the population.
That’s not reform. That’s just lying about numbers.
Personally, it would mean jack if the democrats voted this in or voted this out. The bill is a piece of paper, the whole back and forth is a facade to make it look like we are moving forward. Even if they triple the numbers of "Voters" for chief executive it means nothing, the 2370 of those people will still be hand picked by Beijing.
I thought of a new tagline for my new series of T-shirts: More than 800.
