Open Letter: Why You Should be out on December 4th 2005

Awaiting a Democratic Hong Kong

Here is a letter (piece of writing) I received from freeman of Rebuild HK. I wanted to share it.

My quick translation: In the history, people in Hong Kong have never had their own rights and say. We have been colonial subjects, and never had the status to our own rule. The people who negotiated our fate has never put our best interest as a priority. We as HK people should step up for the next generation, we should find a voice. On December 4th 2005, do something for Hong Kong and walk onto the streets.

(Freeman says it all much more poetically, and I honestly say it’s not really a great translation but you get the gist..)

This is a short video of important historical events of Hong Kong.

SARS…
