Website Supporting the Freeing of Detained Journalist Mr. Ching Cheong

Counterparts set up a web log for Ching Cheong

Hong Kong-based journalist, Ching Cheong, has been held under house arrest by the Mainland for nearly two and a half months. However, the Mainland authority has not yet decided his fate. This created fears among journalists. Some worried about Ching Cheong’s rights have been unprotected, while some others concerned whether the scope of press freedom will further be limited. Some even fear that Beijing is  playing the delaying tactics again to water down public concerns. In the light of this, some journalists have set up a blog (http://savechingcheong.blogspot.com) about Ching Cheong’s detention. The blog will include the news of Ching Cheong’s case and opinions  from individuals. Please visit the blog and post your views.

To let more people know what happens to Ching Cheong, please forward this blog and add savechingcheong@yahoo.com.hk to your mailing list.
