Hong Kong Based Charity Cross Roads needs Goods

I just got back.. didn’t see anything on the plane because a) it was dark, b) I was asleep, c) my geographical understanding of flight paths is limited. But on the way here, I just remembered an organization that I helped out with previously. It’s a HK based charity, very established but doesn’t have the clout of the big ones, so maybe if you are still planning to donate, this is something to look into. As well instead of donating money, you can actually donate concrete packages you create yourself. Otherwise, they are looking for construction materials and voleenteers.

Tsunami Disaster Response
Many
people have asked what Crossroads is doing in response to the crisis
and how they might become involved. We have been asked for shipments
from several of the affected countries and we would value your help in
sending out a series of containers with aid appropriate to those in
need.

If you would like to help, there are several ways you can do so.

    1. Goods
Although we have goods in our warehouse that are appropriate, additional kinds of goods are also needed at this time. For specifics, please see below.
    2. Money
As the situation is dynamic, we need to be able to ship with both
immediate aid materials now, and reconstruction materials later. We
have therefore set up a disaster relief fund that will allow us to move
all of these shipments quickly. Our target figure is USD 50,000 (approx
HK$400,000). This will cover both shipping costs and the purchase of
materials that are not ordinarily donated to Crossroads.
    3. Volunteers
We will need extra hands to process the extra shipments and would be
grateful for additional volunteer support. In particular, we need
volunteers who can come on a regular basis, rather than those visiting
      as a one-off.

If you would like to assist in any of these ways, please let us know:
