Maybe We Should be Nicer to Courtney Love

I dunno, I actually had a bit of a rant and meltdown in Finn’s comment box a week or two ago, over my beloved Courtney. I even agreed with him calling her a “crack whore” (If you know my ten year unhealthy worship over Courtney Love, you would be very shocked i did). I said even I was sick of her antics and that it actually HURT to see her like that, and how dissappointed I am that she didn’t get it all together (No I am not linking to it, because it was such a raw, emotional series of comments, I am glad only Finn can see how pathetic I can get over a rock star.) But anyway, after reading all the stuff about cobain, I realised maybe we shouldn’t be so harsh on her.

After all, the ods, the rants, the stupid stunts, the arrests were all leading up to yesterday, the 10th anniversary of her HUSBAND’s death. People can say what they want about how their relationship was, but he was still her husband and father of her child and he killed himself ten years ago. It must be hard. I find it disconcerting because it’s such a focal point of memories, and I remember that year so well because of that. And it all happenned to her. She’s probably freaking out and losing the plot and have every reason to.

Imagine living with his child everyday, and knowing he is gone and she will never have her dad, and wondering if the decisions you made had an impact on the outcome. Can’t be easy. She’s been put on suicide watch as well as said to Kurt Loder on MTV how she’s not over this, and how starting two years ago the event keeps coming back.

So I take back the “crack whore” agreement, and reforming my idea and go with “Grieving Widow, who is completely off her rocker due to very sad events in her life.”

Okay. This is my ridiculous courtney love related announcement. Amazing.. ten years later I am STILL defending her on the Internet, some people just don’t grow out of old habits, no matter how innane, (it’s also the 10th annivesary of me surfing da web too.)

I know.. after last week of campaigning against Internet Censorship etc.etc. It a huge change of direction, but you know? That thing went through the roof in terms of how it started and where it got, and it’s not going to move any higher up. So it’s time to mull over important matters of another kind. Which is the 10 year anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s sucide…. Those two did change the world as far as I am concerned.
