Finally forced to leave the house and made to eat proper food because “Can’t be couped up like that for days.” and they were right. Even if I can’t bear to see my friends. Being a sick slob in front of your family and your cousins has a certain sympathy vote factor that you have to admit is quite enjoyable.
Because I was still obviously sick, I got to sit in the big comfy chair for the first time in my life, right in front of the TV, which usually is occupied by grandpa Lo (My biu gor’s grandad not mine), as I am usually relegated to the sofa, and boy did I take advantage, I even got my tea brought to me!!!!
My aunt then did the whole thermomiter thing, and I just kept it in my mouth, and after a while I waved at her, she went, “Oh, I forgot all about you!” and came over took it out of my mouth, “You could have taken it out by yourself, you know.” I shrugged tho acknowledged that she was right, no idea why I didn’t, just that I was blobbing on the big chair and forgot I was a functioning human being for a second. I had the temperature of 99.52, which is a fever tho my cousin said it wasn’t, but it’s bad enough for me not to be allowed into school and be stopped at the airport in any country in Asia.

So Chen won. I watched his acceptance speech with my hyper-cynical but halariously funny uncles and aunts. The things they were saying about Chen! I am sure if Lien won, I would be saying “The things they were saying about Lien!” They went through the whole gamut of “conspiracy” theories on both sides, ripped it all apart but out of their mouths, it’s quite obvious it was just taking the piss. Can’t really describe it because whatever I write just sounds kooky, you had to be there.
It really made me realize why I find all the yackity yack of China stuff on the net for the most part unbearable, coz you pit pretty much anyone whose currently writing on the web in English with my family, then you can really see who knows what. I mean you don’t spend nearly 60 to 70 something years in this parts (Well back and forth) not to know a hell of a lot more and have a deep understanding of what’s really going on, having watched it all and working within it all for so many years. And they just don’t take it too seriously. There is a level of hogwash to the Chinese political spectrum both here, in China and in Taiwan, (my new word 3china) it’s hard to describe, and only become apparent when you sit with them, coz they see all the naunces that I miss.
Makes me want to write even LESS about all that, (only the really important ranting stuff and stuff concentrating on democracy and human rights only) and stick even more fluff. Well not fluff, but just other stuff that’s really more interesting and let others yack on about China or HK, and Taiwan policies and leave me to just do creative and fun, cool things in the blog.
To be honest I spent some time surfing some political commentary sites and don’t matter which part of the world, I am not that interested, not coz I don’t understand, because I do, just that I prefer to stick with facts, news, and for myself just play with ideas, and art.
