You think I am kidding don’t you? I am not. David Eric Brenner, my old housemate, really good friend and the guy who cast Carmen Electra into a role supposedly based on me (“In original script the character was based on you but we had to overhauled her when Carmen came on!” -uhuh, she couldn’t pronounce “contextual”) is working on a new film called “Gin and Tonic” about the life of Graham Chapman.
They are looking for new, fresh, and also non-union actors so: No acting experience is necessary. Just be funny and make us believe you’re one of the Pythons.
So yeah, as long as you can get yourself to LA in four days. You have a chance to be one of the famed funnymen. (They will also have auditions in London at a later date).
MONTY PYTHON – OPEN AUDITIONS
Can you “silly walk” as well as John Cleese? Nudge-nudge, wink-wink better than Eric Idle? Or, do you just freakishly resemble one of the six members of MONTY PYTHON, the most brilliant and influential comedy group of all time?
If so, then we want to meet you. We are looking for the perfect six people to portray the young members of Monty Python (age range: 18-35) in GIN AND TONIC – a theatrical film bio of the late Graham Chapman, founding member of Monty Python – set to begin shooting in London later this year.
GIN AND TONIC will recreate Graham’s early days studying medicine at Cambridge University; his years as a member of the Python team; his struggles with alcohol; his ground-breaking stance on homosexuality; and his outrageous exploits.
Come take part in this OPEN CASTING CALL in Hollywood, California. We’re currently looking to fill the following roles:
GRAHAM CHAPMAN JOHN CLEESE TERRY GILLIAM ERIC IDLE TERRY JONES MICHAEL PALIN

Here is also a funny interview of Dave by his friend Paul Katcher where he talks a little bit about the film, some gossip with Carmen and personal commentary on stick ball. David Eric Brenner Interview
Yeah, Yeah, I know it’s short notice. I meant to put it up earlier, but forgot, not until Jim came by to tell me Bowie is not the first person to do a concept album.
Look for Aussies. They talk funny and they walk funny. Mind their feet and steps when Aussies walk. I call it the Australian walk, which is supposedly a style following in Koala’s footsteps.
Alas, racism not intended here.

Damn, it’s times like this when I wish I looked British!
I suggest paul bettany as Graham… he looks like him, can pull off the acting job, and has the charisma that made GC such a cut-up

I know about the Australian crawl which usually an be witnessed around 3am sunday morning, but that’s another story…
Unfortunately I’ve lost my british accent, it’s morphed into this half breed Australian I think, plus I can’t afford to fly to LA for auditions. But I can do a ripping sean connery impersonation!
