I just saw Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung..

Hong Kong

For a change of vibe and something equally HK. I just saw Andy Lau Duk Wah and Jacky Cheung Hok Yau!!!! They are filming the sequel to the 80s hit “Queen of Temple Street,” near my apartment. For the last hour they were fighting off knife and chopper wielding gangsters with bare hands in the (fake) rain. Jacky had some horrible corn row thing happenning down to his shoulders in a red shiny shirt and Andy was looking taller and skinnier than I had thought but devastingly handsom as usual in a green shirt, black pants and “Mark Gor” Black Coat. Yum..

I am very excited coz, of course, like every other woman in this city I have a crush on Lau Duk Wah coz he’s just so beautiful. So I spent 15 minutes calling up all my girlfriends just so I got to say, “I am standing 10 feet away from Lau Duk Wah.” Hee Hee.

I got two extremely blurry photos of him until they told me to stop taking photos. Then my battery of my (NEW B-day gift) digicam ran out. Right now it’s charging slowly and I am waiting for it to fill so maybe I can go down and sneak a few more better shots! (I was too tired, I went to bed. This is what happens after you turn 30)

Lates.

  1. hehe, never heard of him but meeting (hot) celebrities is always fun πŸ™‚
The moral of the story: Always make sure your digicam is charged. I make that mistake alot even now after all this time.

  2. As you wish! Andy Lau–Bio and list of movies and Andy wallpaper and the Infernal Affairs site (awesome movie). He’s got a reputation as a super-nice guy, according to my friends who are up-to-date on HK gossip. No wonder women love him.

This is so old, but my favorite role is still him as Yeung Gor in the old serials based on Gum Yong’s (sp?) books. sigh

Jacky Cheung is cool, too. I love his voice–I grew up on his songs. I missed his concert when he was touring the U.S., though. 😦

I reiterate: I am so DAMN jealous of you, Yan!

  4. I just got my Infernal Affairs 2 DVD from YesAsia(Thanks Yan!) the other day, still haven’t seen it yet. But gonna see it today, so I can continue on part 3.
Andy Lau and Tony Leung(sorry, only remember their western names) are the coolest Asian actors IMHO. They got such a radiant charisma.
It’s such a shame that so many good movies around the world never gets a chance outsite their home country.
I still haven’t met any who has even heard of Infernal Affairs here in Denmark… 😦

  5. THanks!
Tony Leung Tsi Wai -He’s my Favorite!
They really have something. I saw Leung Tsi Wai at a press conference once, and I did away any journalistic objectivity and just giggled with a few of my collegues while standing in the corner going, “I really can’t go get his autograph right? Like that’s just not on.” and they were going, “You would look so stupid, tho if you do can you ask for one for me too?”
My friend who translated my birthday wish interviewed him once, and she said, she spent the whole time blushing and stumbling over words coz she couldn’t cope with him looking her in the eye and smiling!!
You’re in Demark?? Wow that’s far away. You grew up here right?

  6. Oh, that reminds me that i (should be lun) owe you Andy Lau & Tony Leung’s photos!
You know, lun should work for that movie. He has worked for a few days and then left for Yunnan for another film. If he stays at this movie, you may meet him and can borrow his cameras shooting Lau Tak Wah πŸ˜›

  7. Yan,
My background is a little bit more convoluted. I was born in Tanzania lived there for my first few years and then grew up in Denmark. Where I’m now studying.
I’ve never been to Hong Kong, though I’m sure I’ll go there one day, always wanted to.
I saw Infernal Affairs when I was living+working in Bangkok one year ago.

  9. House of flying Daggers

I went to see House of Flying Daggers last friday, it was quite good. It’s the new movie by Zhang Yimou, the director who also directed Hero, which probably more people know than The way Home or Raise the red Lantern.
Flying Daggers is very much like…
