First Time Love: Rome…

Diary of a backpacking addict

Oh, hell. Now I am busting all my friend’s travel stories, I might as well start doing family members too. This is from one of my half twin cousins who are experiencing Europe for the first time..I got this last week.

I love what he said because it’s exactly how I felt when I went to Rome.. I wanted to fall in love there.. so badly.. it’s like the place forces you to want that heady feeling because you are half way there already.

pronto! prego!

apparently both mean a form of “hello” in italian, though i haven’t quite gotten the hang of using it. anyway i’m in florence now, having spent just under a week in rome. Rome was fabulous, and we did everything from the coliseum to the roman forums and all that.

the trevi fountain was amazing, and since i threw in 2 coins – a total of 6 euro cents – am i a tightarse or what?!? – i should return to rome and fall in love in rome. Well, the second bit didn’t happen – i am very peeved – but the first bit we can work on.

if you’re wondering why i can’t type in brackets, it’s because i’m using this weird italian keyboard so i’m struggling a bit at the moment…

a few funny things have happened, such as getting yelled at by an italian supermarket attendant for not using gloves to pick apples at the supermarketo – yeah – great buddy – do some real work!!!.

ok, we are going out for dinner now – as my friend who is now in london said to me – the euro and the pound is TRES painful indeed. so lots of povo food and water only!!!

ciao bella

PS:.. oh shit, can’t do a smiley face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
