Glutter Relisten: SUBLIME

Glutter Relisten: Anger

In Memorial: Brad Nowell

Instead of KRS One who said so. It could have been you, telling all the truths we learned at UCSC to those who don’t know because you said it with a punk/ska/reggae/rock/hiphop mixture that only someone who loves them all with equal passion and own genius could put together and make people listen.

Who else told those stories, like you did. No Shame, No Blink, No Hiding: Wrong Way , 40 Oz to Freedom, and Hope.

It’s unfortunate that half the world only knows you by Date Rape, which is good but not the best

Then you screwed up and went. Just before the band got big. At a time when there was a gap, and people were searching. So we were left with Fred Durst. And in the last eight years music never got taken to the higher ground.

When I am sad I listen to What I got and Get Out because it reminds me that we can smile and let it go and yeah even though 1993 sucked 1994 was better.

It’s a shame that I can’t link to your sounds and let people hear Santeria, Badfish and Smoke Two Joints because if they don’t know who you are, they have never heard what you and the band could do.

One listen to what you did to Summer Time, making it a whole new song called Doing Time yet never betraying the original will make them stand to attention.

Your Albums has never found a home in my CD holder because it’s never been put away.

You would be 33 years old this year, just like my friend who was your friend, who might be joining you one day too early too. I am angry at both of you.

I can never fully forgive you for leaving us, you promised to take your time.

You had so much more left to say.
