Melissa Auf Der Maur, Canadian. Bassist for Hole, starting from the Live Through This tour, as the replacement of the original member Kristen Pfaff following Pfaff’s Heroin overdose just before the already delayed tour was due to start. (The delay caused by Kurt Cobain’s -husband of Courtney Love, frontwoman of the Hole- suicide a week before the Live Through This release in April 1994)
Legend and truth is Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins (Who Melissa met at one gig and then became pen pals with), suggested her to Courtney. After Celebrity Skin, she left Hole to join Smashing Pumpkins after Darcy left. Partly due to Melissa starting up a relationship with Dave Grohl, drummer of Nirvana and now front man and guitarist of Foo Fighters, whom Courtney hates and was in litigation over her husband’s “legacy” ie. musical rights for years.
Melissa’s first solo album is due out sometime next year.

ok, ok, even though i’m 100% straight and i’ve never thought of myself as a rock diva before (well ok maybe once after a few drinks) i’m a sucker for these sort of things so here are my results, 🙂
Rock diva: Zia McCabe from the Dandy Warhols. I didn’t know who she was but her bio says she is free spirited, loves being on stage and caused controversy when she spoke about drinking her own urine! Well I just don’t know what to make of that!lol
My rock star boyfriend would be Thom Yorke of Radiohead. If I was a rock diva, I gotta say i’d be disappointed with that, he’s an ugly bastard isn’t he? Don’t care how creative he is, imagine waking up to that face every morning!
Yan, stop encouraging me to start writing or I may just do it, and then no one will be safe hahaha (evil laughter). No, seriously thanks for the comments, coming from an expert such as yourself, that’s great! I’ve always struggled to identify what talents I may have so maybe I have one that I can work on a little bit now.

No, seriously, I have a good eye for writing, (in many incarnations I have had in life, editing was one of them. although when it comes to my own blog, we have some problems!) You have something that’s definately worth exploring!!
