Democrats are Suck Ups. One of Our Old Police Assistant Commissioner is a Twit. What’s new?

Although I have been reading the news everyday, I find it boring and don’t have a lot to say. Tung meets the Democratic Party for the first time in four years in office. The democrats act far too happy, considering they spent all those four years publicly deriding the guy. Come on people! Have some pride! I keep bringing that issue up. PRIDE! It drives me crazy to see people constantly pandering to power, even when they act like they disagree. If you believe in Democracy, then maybe you should not go sucking up to powerful people hoping they might give you some without a vote.

Another stupid letter about how it’s a disgrace to not like Regina Ip and how Hong Kong people don’t understand democracy and blah blah blah, this time by the retired assistant commissioner of Police Peter Hailgail, Halliway, Hali something. I left my paper at the garage, so I can’t check.

I find all these irate people seem to have such a superior attitude to everyone else, but really they don’t understand the most basic, basic ideals and what it’s all about. They can’t seem to grasp the fact people want self autonomy not because they think it’s going to make their life better, but because it’s a basic right in 2003 or at least it should be.

And that also means our government officials won’t give us the finger and be non responsive. Remember Tung took THREE DAYS to make a statement about the protest? If someone was elected they would have made it three hours. It’s just an issue of being treated with respect.

I can’t even think of one person I would want to vote for, if we got universal suffrage to be honest. But I rather have a choice then be told who I have. If I made a big mistake, well I have four years, or however long to wait it out and then I can rectify it. Like all those people in America and quite a few Brits too. We’re all sitting it out together, but at the end of this four years, if I still don’t have a say, it would really suck.

(I could use other words: such as disgraceful, disappointing, shameful, disillusioning, a disservice to the people. But you know what? That’s pretty much what sucks means all at once. I use it not because I lack vocabulary, but because it’s so all encompassing.)
