Punk’d in Asia

I am probably wasting my breath here, who’s not going to watch Britney practically falling out of her sundress, or Justin Timberlake nearly in tears and Nick Lachey losing his temper? But sometimes we gotta to do a little plug for your friends so you can sleep better at night. Anyway, Ashton Kutcher’s New Show Punk’d is now on MTV Asia.

I have no idea when and where since there are like 15 different MTV channels but it’s now on this side of the world. Mr. Dax Shepard is ultra funny, his acting is fab, and his timing left me impressed. I think he deserved the billing of “Star of Punk’d” as New York Post called him on page six (Which is a gossip column, I don’t read it, someone sent it to me). Where it reported how he flashed a group of people at a party attended by Yoko Ono -whose art I love- and some other big names. That’s the second mention of flashing on this blog today. It’s true, it’s not just me, my other friends do it too. 🙂

I am writing this I guess because in a previous life, when I still had pink hair and he was just a guy with a strange name. Dax was my dear dear friend. He brought me beers in Western Civ Class, he was the person who got me into fast cars and fast bikes by forcing me on the back of his. I will always remember the feeling of my first time riding down Moholland and Sunset. The route Elvis and Mcqueen went on (That’s another story). I know if that didn’t happen, the film I am making would never have occurred to me all these years down the line.

He’s probably still got the coolest tattoo I have ever seen, five stars on the inside of his arm and he always liked mine. We watched bad movies together, and he gallantly got out of his chair, walked to the front of the theatre and leaned over to ask a woman who was speaking through the whole thing to please shut up. He did it because I think I was going nuts and a few people already tried to shut her up to no avail. He did it with two sentences. Sometimes when someone is being ultra annoying I do think it would be nice if he was around because he would be one person that would scare the living daylights out of that person with that way of his. He had authority, he was intimidating and he always said exactly what he thought regardless of consequences and we had that in common. I think he was born to be on that show.

I am not totally comfortable about writing about this because this whole fame thing is so strange. If he wasn’t famous suddenly I wouldn’t think twice about blabbing away about how great he is, and how you have to check it out. He mentioned a lots of people seemed to want to jump on the train. I don’t really want to do that… but I also want people to watch his show.

And I hope he becomes mega famous. Coz then his life would be easy and it wasn’t always. And he can be happy. And I would have the last word because when people asked me what it was about him that made me hang with such a strange guy, I always said it was because he was really funny. That he is. Watch the Show.

I liked what you had to say about Dax. Every time I read some comment about Dax from somebody who alledgedly has some lost bond or aunt that is freinds with…., I want to vomit as most don’t. It is evedent you do, as you summed him up pretty good why anyone would who really knew him has no surprise at his sucess. Your comment about wanting people to watch him, but not wanting to look like you got on the bandwagon is so money as well. It easier to meet a star, then to know someone who later becomes one.

David… I don’t remember him having a brother. An uncle? A cousin? Yeah, it’s a very very strange feeling to watch him be successful. You just want to call him up at every turn, and ask him a million questions, but then you don’t want to come off like some annoying fan. I called him once when I was in LA. Speeding down the freeway when I got there. And when he didn’t call me back, I had such mixed feelings about it. Don’t want to hound the poor guy knowing he gets a million phone calls a day from “Lost” friends. But knowing really I had the right to call and go, “Yo! Lunch! Now! I am all way from another country!” Which I would have done without thinking before. Not knowing if he was even in town. And I know I have been away for such a long time. Thing was tho at the end of the day I got real busy and didn’t have time to call again anyway as there were lots of other long lost friends to look up and hook up with. I didn’t even make it to Disneyland which I was sad about. There is always another time. Will be back home more often. It’s all so funny. I thought a lot about the fame thing, coz there were other people I know who’s on the way. It’s a test of how you feel the person feels about you rather than anything else I think. I could go on, but I will stop.

I am indeed his brother. I used to search all sites with stuff on him (how I found your site)as we were all so excited, but it wears off. He didn’t call you back becuase he is out of the country filming (which you must know by now). It was pretty strange when at first I had to sell everyone on watching Punk’d, and now I can’t go to the grocery store (I live in a small town in Michigan)without somebody asking me if my brother is coming up before they ever even asked how I was. A girl named her dog Dax, and I got relatives neither of us knew we had, kinda like the Punk’d episode with Lechae. Just to update you, he is doing great. How ever big Punk’d made him, times that by a million and that is who he will be next year. I used to joke with him about taking Brad Pitt’s place now that Pitt is going to be 40, and it seems I am less funny and more clearvoyent. The people who deal best with it are my children, to whom, he is just uncle Dax who plays in the pool with them and have to wait for him to wake up when he is here. To give validitiy that I am who I say, your motorcycle ride was was on an old crappy Suzuki Katana that had been stolen once, or it was after graduation and it was a Harley he got for a graduation present.
