Here is one of the most pathetic posts I have ever encountered in 9 years of surfing the Internet. Maybe just below those in Fascist Sites, but I don’t visit often. What’s interesting is the dude chooses to put it in mine. Not only can he not read because he’s missing my point. He’s seriously what I was talking about when I said, it is a testament of Hong Kong people that we believe in democracy because I have never heard a single person say they missed the British rule. He’s not a Hong Kong person as I can gather, and doesn’t live here, my statement is still true.
I can’t really say if the guy is Chinese or he is a crazed expat or even a crazed white guy living in America. I have no idea. I just find it unfortunate people like this exists. But I find many things unfortunate in the state of the world today. That’s no shock.
Actually it’s the replacement of Western racism, which they abandoned, with Asian racism that’s sad. Cantonese survived for over a century under British rule. My bet is that under Chinese rule, Cantonese will die out completely within 50 years. And yet you’re thrilled because your new rulers have the same yellow skin. Good for you.
You are so thoroughly indoctrinated that you fail to see that Tung is not the problem – Beijing is. Under Chinese rule, Hong Kong will return to the barren rock that it was before the British raised it to its present stature. My prediction is that in 50 years, Hong Kong will just be another backwater town in China – it’s not that other Chinese cities will catch up to Hong Kong; instead Hong Kong will regress to their level.

From what you just wrote, one would think that the West invented imperialism. Imperialism has been alive and well in China for several thousand years. This is why your rulers speak Mandarin, and you speak Cantonese. You are part of a conquered people, one of the few conquered peoples who don’t even recognize that they have been conquered*. And your yellow-skinned conquerors aren’t even competent administrators, at that. Why would you prefer your Mandarin-speaking conquerors to the previous English-speaking conquerors just because the former has yellow skin, in view of the fact that the latter provided for a much better life, both in terms of prosperity and freedom?

Cheung Fai, I really don’t know who you are. But your overt reaction to some of the things I say makes me think you hate yourself and being Chinese. (If you are even Chinese) If so the academic word for it is “Internalized racism.” You feel better by knocking your own people, because you feel somehow it elevates yourself to a better status. Get a grip. The Chinese have words for people like you. One is Jiu Gao, the other is Han Gan. I have actually NEVER used them in my life but I would like to extend the pleasure to you today. Mainly both comes down to mean “Traitors of Your Own People.”
Worse is that not only do I disagree with the stuff you say, I think you are dumb. Because you can’t read. Where is my love for Beijing? I think I called them liars a few days ago. I think I stood up to the Xin Hua Agency for a few weeks. I think I have been calling for a democratic Hong Kong so we can rule ourselves? Let me repeat that SO WE CAN RULE OURSELVES?
People like you make me understand why in the art of war they said, treat your enemy warriors well if they fought well for their last leaders for they will fight for you, but destroy those who act as traitor of their own people, even if they worked for you, because they will in turn work for someone else to when they see the benefits.
I am posting this up because I feel that people should get an opportunity to really see what the “other side” looks like. People who want to be ruled by others. People who rather not strive for something better but yearn a past that can never be recovered and the ethics of that past is questionable. And people who sit in the comforts of a place with democracy and free speech (you did say you lived in the US) and slam people who try and gain some for themselves and others because they have none. It’s so easy to talk a lot when you can. It’s so easy to be judgmental when you don’t have to worry that maybe, even if the chances are so slim, that you can go to jail, maybe not now but in ten years. If you have so much to say, do something, go become British and work towards them taking over Hong Kong again. But you won’t. Because you’re such a coward you won’t even leave an EMAIL.
In my most extreme I believe people like you are the ones who should be shot first and then have their bodies dragged through the streets. It’s unfortunate, that I do believe in the basic tenants of human rights, so even if the guns do come metaphorically speaking I would have to treat you with some level of respect.
If you’re just pretending to be Chinese, and you’re actually some white guy living in Hong Kong, well, I grew up with a lot of expats, and through my family I knew a lot of the key British Officials, and I can honestly say they would be ashamed of the shit you’re sprouting because it gives them a bad name.
Anyway, I am also sorta writing this thing about why I believe artifacts should be returned, because I realized there are a lot of people who don’t know it’s a world wide trend of many nations to demand that and it’s just not China. And it’s one of my favorite topics. Don’t worry, I am not writing it for you, I am writing it for other people who might be interested, because as I said, you miss the point and thus there is absolutely no use in arguing with you.

I have a little person who hates everything I write and think I am “indoctrinated”. He likes to use words like “yellow skin” which makes my (yellow) skin crawl. I am highly amused because this happens a lot to me. Random people like to pick fights with me, the family theory goes that I am too nice, and that I am generally too happy and engaging which makes certain people have this desperate need to cut me down. Since I never create disharmony, what the prodder isn’t aware of, is if provoked, I face confrontations head on and I pack a mean punch. But anyway. This is my prediction of what’s gonna happen if Zhiang Fai keeps coming back. I directed it at him, coz you know, if we’re gonna start, I might as well tell him how It’s gonna finish.
Dear Loopy Fruit III (personal joke to my friends from Goodbye Leslie)
You’re really not the first annoying person I have to deal with on the net, both professionally and personally. I tell you what’s going to happen. You will come rant a few more times, with each, increasingly personal and insultng towards me, you may even start to call me nasty names and eventually cross a line and then a lot of people who have been watching silently will come to my defence.
You will then get frustrated and start insulting those people too, which will then make this place a war zone for a little bit. Eventually you will realize this is MY site, the readers comes here because they liked what *I* have done, not your little comments and you will find some excuse to back out because of your pride you won’t want to just disappear. You will then say something like, “It’s no point to talk anymore, you’re all idiotic low class and stupid. I am NEVER coming back!” (Quote Karen (HK), Loopy Fruit I). And we all just go on without you and the site continues exactly as it did before you came along. You may come back and repeat the same procedure a few times, before you realize no one cares.
The upside to this is I will suddenly have a burst of click through because of the drama, which is always nice and many of the people stay. Since my message board is new, I suggest you start there. It would be nice to get it rolling. The space is yours to play in. If I didn’t have you, I maybe have had to invent you. The timing is so perfect.
Yan who was actually once Madam Nailvarnish a highly accurate astrologer for a certain magazine. I don’t know anything about the stars, but I had a list of my friend’s star signs so I just gave them whatever advice they needed at the time, but never told them it was me. I figure either I was gonna help them at the very least, and if this astrological stuff was real, everyone in their star sign was gonna need the same advice. It seemed to have worked. I had a bit of a following in the office anyway. I just have an inkling if this guy keeps coming back. It’s gonna fall exactly as I predict.
