If you attended the July 1st Article 23 Protest, Hong Kong University is doing an online survey:

Again the dreaded issue of “class” raises its ugly head. It actually asks what “class” the participant¡¦s family belongs to. I was a little insulted by the question. Can’t people get it in their heads (including professors who made this survey.) The idea of Universal Suffrage is that “class” is not an issue. One person one vote.

The importance of Class is the basis for the functional constituency, where cell blocks of professional voters can pick someone in their jobs to represent them in Legco. I suppose it stems from the belief that professionals are more qualified to make decisions on who rules Hong Kong. I have to admit this kind of limited suffrage happened in France once upon a time, but that was in 1791.
